Comedians Sue Paramount Global Record Label Over Licensing Fees

TRACK DOCKET: No. 1:23-cv-02409 (Bloomberg Law Subscription) A trio of comedians filed a proposed class action lawsuit against the parent company of the TV channel Comedy Central and its record label for allegedly failing pay proper royalties for their albums and signing undisclosed licensing deals with SiriusXM Radio. Joe Zimmerman, Anthony DeVito, and Sean Donnelly said Paramount Global, which owns the record label Comedy Partners, has 'systematically failed to disclose' the total revenue it makes from their comedy albums or pay its share of the profits under their recording agreements, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the Southern District of New York.
